Je suis Michif explores the reality of Métis people in Canada in the early 2010s. It tells the story of Aimée Craft, a Métis woman and lawyer specializing in Indigenous law from Manitoba who leaves her community to better understand what it means to be Métis: their history, identity, rights, culture, and future. The five episodes explore the legitimacy of this community, highlight its achievements, and discuss its contribution to Canadian cultural diversity. Craft shares her passion and anxieties about the challenges facing the Métis nation.
