Co-produced with our partners at Zone3, Edgar is a crime series that imaginatively blends the best of a modern-day Columbo with the offbeat world of The Big Lebowski. It’s a family-friendly show where every character is extravagant and larger-than-life. Set in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where the series is filmed, it comprises eight complete investigations, each unfolding over a one-hour episode. Just like in Columbo, the viewer witnesses the murder and knows the killer’s identity. What they don’t know is how Detective Edgar will solve the mystery and gather the evidence that will lead him to identify the culprit. Since the viewer knows the outcome of the investigations, their interest is sustained by the methods and originality Edgar employs to solve the murders.
